Deck Spotlight: Dragapult / Charizard Toolbox

This has quickly become one of my favorite decks to play. It's fast, flexible, and can start hitting hard early if the setup goes well. I usually prefer going first so I can evolve quickly and apply pressure while slowing my opponent down with cards like Budew and Mimikyu. If I can draw into Rare Candy, Jacq, or Arven early, I can usually get my Stage 2 Pokémon out quickly and start building momentum. Drakloak also helps a lot with card draw and getting important pieces into play.

Munkidori is a great counter against other Dragapult decks, and Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon ex makes for a solid backup attacker. It also helps deal with Pokémon that block damage from attackers with abilities, which can be a problem otherwise.

Jamming Tower has been useful for shutting down annoying tools that your opponent attaches to their Pokémon, but you do have to be careful with it. Hero's Cape can boost Charizard ex’s HP all the way to 430, or it can be great on Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon too. Just make sure the stadium timing doesn’t cancel out your own tools when you need them.

There have been a few games where I struggled to get Basics out early, but with Nest Ball, Buddy-Buddy Poffin, and Artazon, there are multiple ways to recover quickly if the cards fall right.

It’s not a perfect list, but it’s been really fun to play and I’ve definitely been winning more since I started using it.
